The course
The EBR ESA Electrical Work course is based on the publication EBR ESA Electrical Work. It covers everything from fundamental safety principles and competence requirements to operation and maintenance activities, as well as the four ESA working methods: work de-energized, work energized, work within the vicinity zone, and work outside the vicinity zone.
Target Group
This training is intended for asset owners, employers, and employees who plan, manage, or perform work on, with, or near electrical installations.
The program has been developed for professional roles such as distribution electricians, planners, design engineers, electrical designers, road lighting technicians, operations engineers, operations technicians, network planners, maintenance engineers, project managers, site managers, and surveyors/measuring technicians.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of the training, participants should understand:

Why it is important to maintain a strong safety culture in the workplace.

The responsibilities and obligations of asset owners, employers, and workers under occupational health and safety legislation and electrical safety regulations.

The organizational structure and functions required to work safely.

The process of electrical safety planning and the importance of applying risk management principles.

Fundamental concepts required for effective and safe communication.

How to apply the four ESA working methods: work de-energized, work energized, work within the vicinity zone, and work outside the vicinity zone.

What constitutes an operational activity and when such an activity becomes planned work under one of the ESA working methods.

The difference between an operational activity and a maintenance activity.

The difference between electrical work and non-electrical work.

How the EBR ESA Instruction Form for Work Outside the Vicinity Zone is used and applied.
The goal is to make you understand and apply EBR ESA to your specifik work around low-voltige and high-volige installations. You will have knowledge of the hazards assiciated with the work and the workplace and how to avoid accidents.
Repetition
The education repeats every third (3) year.
The repetitions course is 8 h and can be teacher-led conducted in person at a physical location or teacher-led online.
